Prescriptions
Repeat Prescriptions
Our strong preference for repeat requests is to be done using the NHS App. Alternatively they can be ordered online via the website. Both these are the quickest and most effcient way for you to obtain your medication.
If those methods are unavailable to you then complete the prescription request slip in the surgery, or speak to Reception.
Please note we do not accept verbal prescription requests.
Prescription Charges and Exceptions
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).
The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount, which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
View the cost of prescriptions on the NHS website at www.nhs.uk/how-much-nhs-prescription-charge.
You can also find out if you are entitled to free prescriptions by visiting www.nhs.uk/get-help-with-prescription-costs.
