Living Well with Menopause group

This is a new group that uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques to support those going through the menopause. It is completely funded by the NHS and therefore free

The details of the groups are as follows:

 

Date: Monday 18th November

Time: 2:15pm – 4:15pm

Duration: 6 weeks

Where: Zoom

 

The topics covered includes:

  • Understanding Menopause: Gain a better understanding of Menopause and learn about the different stages and symptoms of menopause.
  • Links Between Thoughts, Behaviours and Emotions: Understand the connections between thoughts, behaviours, physical symptoms, and emotions related to menopause.
  • Recognising Unhelpful Thinking Habits: Learn about unhelpful thinking habits that people often fall into during menopause and how to recognise and manage them.
  • Identifying Unhelpful Worry: Learn to identify when worrying is unhelpful and causing distress.
  • Managing Worries: Discover strategies to manage worries and reduce anxiety.
  • Self-Compassion: Gain a better understanding of self-compassion and learn how to be self-compassionate during menopause.
  • Assertive Communication: Learn about assertive communication, which can help people to express themselves effectively and boost self-esteem.

This group could be very useful for anyone struggling with anxiety and/or depression whilst going through the menopause. They accept referrals for anyone aged 17+ and registered with a GP in Surrey via self-referral through the website   https://centreforpsychology.co.uk/  or you can be referred by your GP
